David Highfill, Executive Editor at William Morrow talks with Virginia Stanley about Possessed and Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter
Welcome to the new HarperCollins Editors' Buzz video interview series! HarperCollins and EarlyWord.com have teamed up to introduce you to the editors who acquire, edit, shape and mold the books that will ultimately land on your shelves! They work closely with their authors to deliver books that you and your patrons will (hopefully) love! While Bobby, Kayleigh and I can tell you about these books, no one can really convey the soul of a book and the passion of an author quite like an editor.
In this first installment in the series, William Morrow Executive Editor David Highfill discusses two of his titles from the Fall list: Possessed:The Life of Joan Crawford, and the novel we buzzed about at ALA, Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter.
David joined William Morrow in 2005 after ten years at G. P. Putnam’s Sons. He edits a wide range of fiction and nonfiction. Some recent acquisitions include a trilogy by film director Guillermo del Toro, novels by Elmore Leonard, Andrew Gross, Steve Martini, Stuart Woods, Barry Eisner, and Lee Child. He’s also edited nonfiction bestsellers such as Capt. “Sully” Sullenberger’s memoir Highest Duty, Patricia Cornwell's Portrait of a Killer, Evan Wright's Generation Kill and Goldie Hawn's A Lotus Grows in the Mud.
We hope you enjoy this new feature.
