I’m so looking forward to seeing this movie on opening day, Oct. 11. I’m sure it will eloquently explain how Capt. Phillips, a true hero, handles a crisis, one that most of the country, in following this abduction back in 2009, probably felt would end in tragedy for him. I couldn’t put the book down as I read it and I’m sure the movie, handled by the great Tom Hanks, will be riveting. BTW, Capt. Phillips has a remarkable sense of humor and he autographs his books with the words, “May you have a pirate-free life.” What a wonderful human being, as are his wife, Andrea, his children, and his mother. I don’t know how they managed to stand the strain of wondering how it would end…except knowing that their beloved husband, father, and son was under far greater strain. The book and, I predict, the movie: both American classics, just like Capt. Phillips and his family.
